About Your Director

Spread Your Wings Dance Competition is directed by Kai Smith. Kai was a competitive dancer from 6 years old, to the time he graduated at 18! He taught dance for 7 years and worked with all ages and levels. Kai worked on the crew of Huntsville's Festival of The Arts' production of Jesus Christ Superstar in 2025, and he was local practice director of the Canada's Ballet Jorgen's production of the Nutcracker : A Canadian Tradition in 2024. 

​Kai's goal as a director is to make his events feel inclusive to all and let every dancer soar!

​He is so excited to witness your dancers explore movement and challenge themselves on the stage!
